Course Description: Agricultural Machines are used as an extension of people’s ability to produce and care for plants. This course focuses on many of the machines used by farmers to produce crops in plant agriculture. An agricultural machine has components that work together as a system in order for the machine to perform its intended function. Any machine, however simple, may be divided into many subcomponents. To understand how a machine works, consider the machine as a collection (or system) of several subsystems made up of components and subcomponents. In this section, we will learn how to identify the various systems found in a modern agricultural machine and the functions performed by the subsystems. In this book we will concentrate on process systems of agricultural machines. The process systems of a machine include all parts that perform reversible, non-reversible, or non-directional processes, whereas these processes are the functions the machine was designed to perform.
